Once upon a time in the land of beautiful mountains there were many, many bear just like Blackie but over
time more and more people have moved to the mountains and Blackie and his friends are now more visible
as they are moving closer to the towns and cities because their mountain home is getting smaller.
We met Blackie in May of this year as he was walking down a road on one of our Magical Mountain Motor
Tours so we stopped and took some pictures.
Blackie was very obliging and the picture you see was actually taken from a distance of three feet from
Blackie to our Magical Mountain Motor tour car. I think Blackie expected a reward for being so nice but we
know it is not good for Blackie to be fed by people because he will lose his hunting skills... Now if only we
could convince Blackie because his expression was one of What no sandwich ? I behaved, I posed for
pictures and not even a sandwich.
We see bears of all sizes frequently on our driving or walking tours and they are always awesome to watch
as they go on with their life or when they take time to share their life with us. We love living in the
Mountains and truly hope you enjoy each visit you make to these beautiful, tranquil gentle mountains as
much as we do. Every day is different and more beautiful than the next ,season after season throughout
the year.
